Cult And Gods

 


 

Watching the cycle of life in every creature around him, the Ancient Egyptian Believed in life after death.  He believed that deities would play the roll of the sun, the moon ,the planets and the stars. Some of these gods were elevated to be national gods and some remained local ones as their cults were restricted to their local provinces. The power of one god was gained from the power of priests. the priests power grow up towards the late new kingdom to enforcing taxes the king even that reached 10% of his revenue. However they were more than a thousand deities some were the most popular such as;

Isis was regarded the goddess of Motherhood and Magic. one of her magic mad people fall in love. Her extensive magic effect would  bond hearts with love for a life time. She was Cupid of the ancient Egyptians. According to the Egyptian mythology she fell in love with her brother Osiris and got married to him. One should not regarded sinful but rather logical. Has any one thought since Kane and Abel belonged to the first family in man kind history ,whom they got married to??  No doubt to their sisters. Likewise Isis had to marry her brother Osiris! Thus it was a godly issue. No doubt this explains why the Pharaoh that was a descendant of deities would practice the same issue and keep the sacred royal blood in the family.

Osiris : Isis' brother and husband?!  According to the mythology Osiris that was a good and kind king to his people. Popularity of Osiris conceived a big jealousy in the heart of his brother Seth. The envy was translated into a conspiracy that induced to the death of Osiris drowning in the Nile. Preserving his body till the return of his sol in resurrection, the answer was mummification. Since Osiris died and soon resurrected ,Every dead king was identified with him and his mummy would take the Osirid attitude. Since he found no loyalty in this present world, Osiris preferred to remain in the nether world and became the king of dead. Being the first to this world gave him the right to put the law and the judge of the every new comer to this world.

Horus :: is The son of Isis and Osiris. When Hours grow up His mother Isis asked him to take revenge for his  murdered father. In the mythology Horus chased his uncle Seth in different parts of Egypt. Seth was not only a an evil character in fairytale but represented the evil powers such as ; Enemies & invaders of Egypt that the king would  stand for as the shield that protected his people. Seth was the nature disasters such as ; floods & volcanoes or downpours that king would stand as a fortress that people could resort to in dangers. Horus was the symbol of security. Hence the straggle of Hours and Seth is a symbolic one, that manifests the ever and forever dispute of goodness and badness. The ancient Egyptian found the Falcon a sharp sighted bird  and a good watcher from high altitude. The falcon associated with Horus and became his sacred bird. Thus every living king is Horus on earth and when died identified with Osiris.
