Giza Pyramids |
'If you have not been to the Giza pyramids, then you have not been to Egypt".
No visitor could come to Egypt and miss having a look at those great monuments. What is the pyramid? the word "pyramid" is a Greek word given to the triangular piece of bread. However the pyramid is known as a tomb, ancient Egyptian never used the word tomb. But referred to it as the "House of Eternity". It is a place for a royal burial. As building a pyramid could take 20-30 years, one can say "building a pyramid was the national project" of the country. Every village in Egypt would compete sending its quota of the workers to either construction site or quarry site.
The pay roll of the king consisted of bread, beer and cloth as there was no coinage in ancient Egypt. As many theories have been lied about lifting the stones, many others about the pyramid builders being, slaves, free citizens, Egyptians, Israelis, or may be Aliens. lots of other stories are waiting to be told.

No picture could make justice to the reality. The interesting thing is Khefren, building his pyramid on a higher spur than the others makes it look bigger. The issue that makes visitors think that the big pyramid is in the middle.

Every photographer pictures the pyramids from the desert. Not many visitors would imagine them seen across the fields! THE FACT IS THE fields expanded till the desert edge.

the second pyramid of king Khefren is no less greater than the big one since it is only 3 meters smaller now.
No doubt that the retained limestone casing toping the “Khephrin’ pyramid, gives its special appearance.
When excavated by the Italian traveler Belzoni in 1818, the mummified ox thy as part of the king’s funeral provision, thought to have been his mummy’s leg in the first place



The 3rd pyramid
When the grand son “MIN KW RAA” built his pyramid he might have planed to cover it by granite. The solid preserving outer casing stone had to travel for more than 1000 KM. Time factor dictated the size of this pyramid and made almost half size of the other 2 , in order to make it possible to finish during the lifetime of this king. But poor king seemed to have died before it was finished
